Jay Yasin, Bass Player

Bass will always be my first love and has been a part of my life since the age of 12. Along with playing gigs for musical groups in pop, rock, metal, smooth jazz, celtic, punk, funk, and indie electronic; I have studied bass at the college level playing in jazz, symphonic/chamber orchestra, and wind ensembles. My influences consist of a variety of styles and genres including Cliff Burton/Jason Newstead (Metallica), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Les Claypool (Primus), Jaco Pastorius (Weather Report), Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher), Edgar Meyer, Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck), P-Nut (311), Timmy C (Rage Against the Machine), James Jamerson (Mo-town), John Myung (Dream Theater), and many other countless low-end friends who have got me grooving to their great tracks. As a bass player, I also feel obligated to let you know that I happily play gigs and record with fingers or a pick because really it’s whatever is needed to for the job. If you have a track or gig that you think I could be of service to, then give me a shout.
